Read the average and the profile separately.
Add Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Divide the total by 4. IELTS reports the average to the nearest whole or half band. An average ending in .25 moves to the next half band. An average ending in .75 moves to the next whole band.
6.125 becomes 6.0. 6.25 becomes 6.5. 6.625 becomes 6.5. 6.75 becomes 7.0.
Now compare the 4 module scores. Two candidates can have the same overall band but need different study plans. Start with a lower module when it also matters for your application requirement.
